Butterfly 5 Products

This is the first time that Butterfly has “shown” all the boards and rubbers that will be released this year. Not only the Tenergy 19, Lin Yunru Super ZLC and Maze Advance that will debut on March 1, but also the Ochalov Innerforce ALC and Francesca Innerforce ZLC that will debut on July 1. Of course, there may be new products coming out at the end of the year, but so many new products are announced on the official website at once.
Many new products. Still shows full confidence in their own strength, but also the gospel of butterfly fans.

So, what is the mystery of these new rubbers and boards, worthy of our dreams? We reveal one by one.

Tenergy 19

How to define?

According to my opinion, simply put, Tenergy 19 is the upgraded version of Tenergy 05. The speed is 13.2 to 13, and the spin is 11.7 to 11.5. T19 slightly outperforms T05 in both speed and spin, but I can’t say that T19 is the most aggressive of the Tenergy series, because the speed is still lower than T80 and T64. But it’s true that T19 is higher than T05 in both aspects, and the 11.7 spin value is the highest in the Tenergy series!

You know, in the English description of the Tenergy series models: 05 for Spin, 64 for Speed, 80 for Balance, straight from the T05 attainment in spin. Thus, we are looking forward to its upgraded version of T19’s ball-eating and arcing ability.

How to achieve?

Smaller particles (1.5mm in diameter) than the Tenergy series are used and then distributed more densely. To sum up: small particles, narrow spacing. The small particles are designed to cause easier deformation of the particles under small and medium forces, in order to achieve better ball eating. But in order to ensure the overall support and rebound power, it must be densely distributed.

Although the spin and speed values are lower than the Dignics 05’s 13.5 and 12, the performance of the rubber is not calculated theoretically, but by the player’s skill, and the Dignics series is sharper, but brittle and harder, requiring a higher level of power. In contrast, the Tenergy has a stronger wrap at medium power and is more suitable for the average player, while the Tenergy is about wrapping up the opponent and the Dignics is about getting rid of the opponent. At this level, Tenergy still has a lot of promise, as it is not a lower level version of Dignics, but a different orientation of style.

Lin Yunru Super ZLC

Super fiber in many flavors

Viscaria, the original crossboard aromatic carbon originator, has not been alone for a long time. Ball ALC, Zhang Jike ALC, Matsudaira Kenta ALC, Lin Gaoyuan ALC, all the same structure, but divided into different flavors. Butterflies are always good at letting us see a world with a grain of sand.

Like Super Zhang Jike and Super Lin Gaoyuan, this new Super Lin Yunru at first glance looks like it has changed in appearance, but there is nothing special about it. The structure is identical, the surface and thickness of the board remain the same, the rebound characteristics 12.3 and vibration characteristics 11.1 remain unchanged. But in fact, when we tried to play Super Lin Gaoyuan, we found a very different feeling from Super Zhang Jike. Super Lin appeared to be more bouncy and aggressive than Super Zhang. And Super Zhang’s holding sense is better controlled. So, super Lin Yunru will have a different direction? According to people who know about Lin Yunru’s former handicap, it is softer than Super Zhang Jike’s market version, with a delicate, soft feeling of eating the ball.

Although the speed is better than the ALC, the bite of the ball is not as pronounced as the ALC, so is it possible for the Super ZLC to be more impressive in this regard?

Maze Advance

A board endorsed by Maze has always had a good feel. In addition to the once hot Maze Carbon, the Maze Advance was preceded by the Maze Performance, which has the same five-ply construction and 6.7mm thickness. The official weight of the Advance is 82g, which is lighter than the Performance’s 85g.

Pure wood five-ply has never been lacking in feel, for beginners to develop the feeling of rotation or very good. But the plastic ball era, thin five clips always seems a little thin. This is where the thicker clips come in handy. Because it provides more support, it is better in defense and borrowing power. Also, the rebound speed has been enhanced.

Ocharov Innerforce ALC

Catching the ball, is the basic requirement

When the Innerforce series was first introduced, Butterfly introduced the concept of “ball grip”. The aromatic carbon fibers are placed on both sides of the core, highlighting the pure wood feel under the small and medium power, highlighting the feeling of gripping the ball and the ability to create arcs, and only after the full force is applied, the deep fiber feel and the surging Ayus core are stimulated. This is the best feature of the series.

Innerforce ALC and the later upgraded Innerforce Layer ALC have had many fans. Chen Ke, Gu Yuting and Zhu Yuling of the national women’s team, Lee Sang-soo of the South Korean men’s team and Yoshinori Ishikawa of the Japanese women’s team all used to hold this board. But Ochalov, although he used this structure as well, was once a solid feature that was no longer a single claim to fame. The big killer, too, is what Ocharov Innerforce ALC wants to achieve.

The big killer for topspin confrontation

The board surface is enlarged to 158*152mm, which is larger than the original Innerforce Layer ALC. Like Jiro Jang and Innerforce ALC, it is for a larger sweet spot and a deeper ball eating feeling. However, Ocharov Innerforce ALC is 6.2mm thick, while both Innerforce Layer ALC and JIHAN and Innerforce ALC are only 6.0mm thick.

The thicker body strengthens the stiffness of the board, which results in a better performance in power and a more stable defense, as well as an improved sense of speed for straight-line hits and bounces. Moreover, Innerforce Layer ALC has always been suitable for fast tearing, but the backhand foul is not a specialty, so the thicker body of Ocharov Innerforce ALC is expected to get a sharper backhand.

Of course, it is generally said that a thinner board is in line with the “light, thin and tough” demand of the times. The reason is that it’s better to start the spin and faster to launch. But a thicker board may be more durable and tougher against topspin. Besides, for Ocharov, who likes to use sticky rubbers like Dignics 09c, it’s not a problem to get up and down. In this day and age, it’s really unlikely that you can score with a single burst of downward spin.

Franziska Innerforce ZLC

Higher bounce and more speed

It is also part of the Innerforce series, and the basic feature is ball grip. The same combination of a soft, ball-eating Rimba face, built-in fibers, and a jet-sensitive Ayus core. The ZLC has a crisper bounce than the ALC, and is more comfortable and faster, while the ALC has a more pronounced bite, making it more suitable for active thugs.

In terms of technical movement, Franziska is more concise than Ocharov. Ochia prefers to gain pleasure and reap the confidence of confrontation through big movements of active power under high ball holding.

So far, in terms of rebound characteristics and vibration characteristics, there is no difference between this Innerforce ZLC of Francesca and the Apollonia ZLC he used before. However, in the hands of Butterfly, a master board maker, each leaf looks similar at first glance, but in essence is diverse.
